Curriculum Overview

Pupils in John Buchan School follow the National Curriculum for England. To help parents and guardians to gain a fuller understanding of the curriculum studied by the pupils, please view the following attachments that correspond to the applicable year group and subject. If you would like any further information regarding the curriculum provision at John Buchan School please do not hesitate to contact us.

Within the school, we also recognise the importance of ensuring that our pupils have access to a wide and rich whole school curriculum, in addition to the national curriculum, to broaden and further develop a range of skills, opportunities and experiences of our pupils. Our school curriculum includes additional curricular club opportunities and experiences that enable our pupils to develop new skills; experience aspects of learning first hand and learn from a  wide range of exciting and inspiring speakers and visitors. Examples of events and experiences that our pupils have had an opportunity to take part in are: The John Buchan Bake Off; workshops delivered by an RAF STEM team; presentations by speakers about topics such as Remembrance and The Invictus Games; a visit from a local restaurant team who have supported our pupils in their Food Technology assessments to name just a few.

You can find out more about the events and experiences that we have taken part in through our picture galleries or by visiting our newsletter links.
